Ajax 4 for U23 friendly

Four Ajax Cape Town players have been selected for the South African U23 squad to play Zimbabwe on Saturday, September 04, 2010 in Zimbabwe.

The four players are Sameehg Doutie, Thulani Hlatshwayo, George Maluleke and Thulani Serero.

These four players have been in top form for the Urban Warriors in their frirst few games of the new season.

George Maluleke won the Man of the Match award against a much fancied Mamelodi Sundowns in the first round of the MTN8 competition. Maluleke formed a formidable partnership with Granwald Scott in the heart of the Ajax midfield as they outplayed their more experienced counterparts.

Thulani Hlatshwayo played a vital role in the defence for the urban Warriors in their opening fixture of the new PSL season. He slotted in at right back when Nazeer Allie moved across to a more central position.

Thulani Serero and Sameehg Doutie need no introduction to local football lovers. The pair have terrorised their opposition in tandem often switching positions. They also enjoyed a pre-season trial in Amsterdam and despite impressing they returned to Cape Town to entertain the local fans.

Serero already opened his scoring account for the Urban Warriors when he scored against Celtic while Doutie has already impressed with his workman like performances in Holland and at home.

The Ajax four left for camp on Sunday August 29 and will return by September 06, 2010 in time for the Ajax game against Moroka Swallows on Wednesday September 08 at the Dobsonville Stadium.
